We would like to extend a huge thanks to everyone who attended our Players helping Players gala this past Tuesday. It was a HUGE success!  In particular we would like to thank the NFLPA for helping us host such a wonderful event. We are very grateful  thanks goes out to all the NFL players that were able to attend and support our cause. Special thanks to NFLPA Executive Director DeMaurice Smith and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell who were also in attendance.

Three individuals were honored for their contributions to preventing sudden death in sport. Dr. Kevin Guskiewicz, David Csillan and Beth Mallon received our Lifesaving Awards this year. Dr. Guskiewicz was presented the Lifesaving Research Award for his tremendous contribution to head injury research. David Csillan was given the Lifesaving Service Award for his continuous effort to help implement heat acclimatization policies in the high school. Finally, Beth Mallon was presented the Lifesaving Education Award for her leadership of Advocates for Injured Athletes, an educational program about sport safety directed at athletes.

The event celebrated the third anniversary of KSI and how much we’ve grown in that time. Every day we make strides to help protect athletes everywhere and an event like this helps us highlight some of our actions. As we continue to grow the list of accomplishments grows as well. Stay posted to this blog to see our weekly updates of how we make athletes safer.
